Professional Services & Engagement Policy
Effective 2026-06-24
This policy explains when a professional engagement begins, what controls the scope of work, and the responsibilities clients have when working with GHL Financial Services.
No engagement by website use alone
Using this website, reading educational content, submitting a contact form, creating an account, joining the Learning Center, or sending a message does not by itself create a tax, bookkeeping, payroll, trust accounting, legal, financial, or advisory engagement with GHL Financial Services.
Engagement acceptance
A professional services relationship begins only when GHL Financial Services accepts the engagement and the required intake, payment, authorization, engagement letter, portal setup, or written agreement requirements are satisfied. GHL Financial Services may decline or discontinue a requested engagement when the scope, timing, documentation, risk, or professional fit is not appropriate.
Scope of work
Service scope, fees, timing, deliverables, client responsibilities, document requirements, filing obligations, and limitations are controlled by the applicable engagement letter, invoice, portal instructions, written agreement, or other written communication from GHL Financial Services.
Client responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and timely information; reviewing documents and returns before signature or filing; responding to questions; maintaining records; and using secure channels for sensitive records when directed. GHL Financial Services relies on information provided by the client and authorized sources.
Legal advice
GHL Financial Services supports tax, bookkeeping, payroll, trust accounting, and recordkeeping work. Legal questions, trust drafting, asset-protection legal opinions, court matters, creditor issues, and fiduciary legal duties should be reviewed with qualified legal counsel.
Deadlines and extensions
GHL Financial Services helps clients identify filing deadlines and extension options based on the information available. Clients remain responsible for timely providing records, approving filings, paying taxes, responding to tax authorities, and meeting obligations not expressly accepted by GHL Financial Services in writing.
